Professional Mom Sawyer
July 12, 2020
When I became a mother in 2016, I had to figure out how to adjust and adapt to my new normal. Being a wife, a business owner, and a mother along with wearing other hats became overwhelming but I realized it gave me another reason to continue to move forward.
Even now, I am in a season of my life where God is grooming me and aligning me to be fully present in this capacity. There are many days where I have had to conduct business with my daughter right alongside of me. She gets to see her mother step up, step out, step in to what God has before me. She gets to watch me walk by faith in the face of oppositions and challenges towards my success.
I am willing to negotiate on some things but when it comes to being a mother I will not negotiate certain things. My daughter won’t be little and dependent on me forever. I am her role model first and I embrace the opportunity I get to spend valuable time with her and to teach her what she needs to know.
Becoming a wife and mother didn’t change my God-ordained purpose to be an entrepreneur. In fact, I believe it was a part of God’s plan all along. In spite of my imperfections, failures, and many setbacks I am still the one God chose to fulfill the assignments He has placed on my life, especially those that will be done through my business and ministry.
I am wise enough now to know how to walk humbly in grateful adoration to acknowledge that because of God’s grace, His mercy, and His unmerited favor towards me I am a better person now who is fit for this amazing journey as a professional mom.
